Frequently asked questions
Another question? Call (514) 648-8487 and a person will answer, Monday to Friday.
Who finances the equipment bought through Lavoie Transit?
J. Lavoie Finance, a company from the same family group, in business for 35 years, reachable at (514) 648-8487 and at jlavoiefinance.com. It works with a wide range of lenders, which lets each file go to the lender that suits it.
Is the calculator rate the rate I will get?
The calculator applies an indicative rate based on the amount financed, to give the order of magnitude of the payment. The actual rate is set when the file is approved, based on your business and the equipment involved.
Can I finance used equipment?
Yes. Used equipment financing is part of the regular practice of J. Lavoie Finance, whether it is a truck, a trailer or machinery. Age and mileage criteria vary from one lender to another, and that is exactly where the choice of lender makes a difference.
Is a down payment required?
It depends on the lender, the type of equipment and the business profile. Some files go through with no down payment, others require one. The answer is given after reviewing the file, before any commitment.
Can payments follow my work season?
Yes. Flexible repayments are available so that payments follow the revenue cycle. It is a useful option in construction, snow removal, agriculture and specialized transport.
What is an accommodation sale and why is it mandatory?
In Quebec, as soon as a transaction includes financing or refinancing, the law requires it to go through a dealer holding a valid SAAQ licence, who produces the documents needed for registration. An RDPRM search reveals the rights registered against the vehicle. J. Lavoie Finance takes care of this step.
Can I finance a major repair?
Yes. An engine, a transmission or a differential means a large bill, often to be paid while the equipment is out of service. Repair financing from J. Lavoie Finance spreads out this expense and preserves the business’s cash flow.
