Privacy policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy explains what information Lavoie Transit collects on this website, what it is used for, who receives it and how to exercise your rights. It also applies to J. Lavoie Équipements Lourds inc., the company in the same group that handles financing applications.
What we collect
Contact form. Your name, your company name, your phone number, your email, your message and the type of request. For a free call, the time that suits you. For a financing request, the equipment price, the down payment, the desired term, how long your business has been operating and, if applicable, the simulation made with our calculator.
Online financing application. Your contact information and your business’s, your financial situation (assets, liabilities, bankruptcy, NSF cheques), the equipment to finance, the seller, your co-signer if any, and the photos and documents you attach.
Your date of birth and, if you wish, your social insurance number are requested when you sign, in Docusign. They go directly into your signed file, without passing through our website.
What it is used for
- Answering your request and calling you back.
- Analyzing your financing application and presenting it to lenders, under the consent you sign.
- Checking your credit file, under that same consent.
- Offering you our other services, or sharing your contact information for solicitation purposes, only if you checked the box provided for that purpose.
Who receives it
For a financing application, lenders, financial institutions, lessors and credit reporting agencies, as set out in the consent you sign.
To run the website, our service providers:
- Netlify, which hosts the website and receives the forms;
- Docusign, for electronic signature and storage of the signed file;
- Google, for address suggestions in the online application and for website analytics.
If you ask to be contacted by the ACTQ, our insurance partner, your contact information and your request are sent to them, with your consent.
These providers may store information outside Quebec. Your information is used only for the purposes described here, never for resale.
What is kept, and where
Contact form requests are kept in our Netlify account for as long as needed to answer and follow up.
The online financing application is sent directly to Docusign when you submit it, with no copy kept on the website. The signed file is kept by J. Lavoie Équipements Lourds inc. for as long as the financing requires and according to our legal obligations.
On your device, while you fill out the online application, a draft is kept in your browser so you never have to start over. It is cleared when you submit, after 30 days, or as soon as you click “Clear everything”. Attached photos stay only in memory until you submit.
Cookies and analytics
This website runs without advertising cookies. It uses Google Analytics, from Google, to measure its traffic: pages viewed, where visits come from, device type, clicks on phone numbers and to our partners, and form submissions. These statistics help us improve the website. Google may store them outside Quebec.
You can turn off this measurement at any time with the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page. Your choice is kept in your browser for 13 months.
Your rights
Under Quebec law, you may at any time:
- find out what information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent, for example to solicitation;
- ask that it stop being disseminated, or that it be sent to you in a common format.
